Beginning in early June, residents of Alberta can get four free non-medical masks per person at all A&W, McDonald’s, and Tim Hortons drive-thru locations in the province, while supplies last.
Twenty million masks will be distributed around the province to help control the spread of COVID-19, Health Minister Tyler Shandro told the press on May 29. The three restaurant brands have agreed to participate at no cost to taxpayers, and no purchase is necessary to receive the masks.
Alternative arrangements are being made for communities that don’t have easy access to a drive-thru location.
More details will be posted on the government of Alberta’s website once the program launches.
