DoorDash adds customer tracking feature for pickup orders

DoorDash revealed in a May 20 blog that it has introduced a new customer tracking feature for pickup orders that will allow restaurants to control the amount of cars waiting curbside while providing a smoother pickup experience for their customers.

With this new feature, merchants will be alerted when a customer is approaching their location so they can have their order ready upon arrival. The option will only be available if the customer is sharing their location data when the app is running.

Order pickup first became available through the DoorDash app in 2018.
