A new waterfront dining destination located in the Grosvenor Ambleside development
Earls Restaurant Group is pleased to announce its new Ambleside Beach location will open on May 9, 2018. The first Earls to open in BC since 2010, Earls Ambleside Beach has been conceived specifically for this West Vancouver location and demographic. It embodies the Group’s vision to create a collection of independently compelling restaurants.
Designed in a ‘West Coast meets California Beach’ style, Earls Ambleside Beach is a waterfront-dining destination where every table has a view. The restaurant will seat up to 189 guests inside, while an expansive patio will allow more than 80 guests to sit steps from the ocean.
The Earls internal design team, consisting of Abigail Stephens, Elly Chronakis and Wendy Tait, led concept development and interior design of the project, defining an identity and aesthetic fitting with the West Coast Modernism look of the Grosvenor Ambleside development. Large format windows, natural wood and exposed concrete create the clean bones of the space which are then complemented and balanced by fresh, cool, mid-century accents and tropical interior plants.
Earls Ambleside Beach has commissioned several artworks for their corporate art collection from Vancouver artists including Andy Dixon, Fiona Ackerman, Ben Skinner and all-female artist collective, Thrive Art Studio, for its art program. These custom works will be featured prominently throughout the restaurant as part of the Earls commitment to supporting local artists.
The menu was created by Culinary Development Chef, David Wong, and will be managed day-to-day by Head Chef, Simon Zanotto, in the kitchen. Opening from 9am on weekends, Earls Ambleside Beach will tempt guests with an expansive brunch menu inclusive of new, location exclusive, menu items such as Lobster and Pancetta Pizza, Salmon Zen Bowl, and The Grilled Avocado Brunch Bowl. This location will also be the first Earls to offer a permanent plant-based menu section with seven vegan-friendly options.
Behind the bar, Beverage Director Cameron Bogue, has partnered with internationally renowned bartenders Iain Griffiths and Kelsey Ramage of Trash Tiki (London/Toronto) to reduce the environmental impact of the beverage program and its operations. Most notably is the introduction of an innovative, five flavour, shelf-stable bottled cocktail range – the first of its size and kind in Vancouver – that will be bottled in front of guests daily. In an effort to reduce unnecessary waste, Earls Ambleside Beach is eliminating disposable plastic straws from the bar entirely.
The wine menu, curated specifically for Ambleside Beach by local wine educator and Earls Sommelier, David Stansfield, emphasizes cool local wines among iconic international producers. There will also be a rotating Reserve Menu featuring a concise selection of world famous bottles with daily Reserve glasses offered from Coravin.
Earls Ambleside Beach looks forward to welcoming guests from May 9, 2018. It is located at 1375 Bellevue Ave, West Vancouver, BC V7T 2Y9, and will be open seven days a week.
