Joseph Richard Group opens eighth Townhall Public House in Chilliwack

Press Release

British Columbia’s fastest growing food, beverage and entertainment organization arrives in Chilliwack tomorrow with the opening of Joseph Richard Group’s newest establishment, Townhall Chilliwack, located at 6640 Vedder Road.

JRG’s Townhall Public Houses offer a wide selection of cocktails and local craft beers, along with classic pub offerings, all prepared from fresh, high-quality ingredients. They also feature “JRG After Dark” entertainment events produced by Pedro Serra, one of Vancouver’s top nightlife event producers.

Chilliwack is JRG’s eighth Townhall, and the 21st establishment for the Fraser Valley-focused organization. Founded in 2002, JRG recently opened new establishments in White Rock, South Surrey and Abbotsford. With the opening of Townhall Chilliwack at Vedder Pointe, JRG now has a strong community presence throughout the Fraser Valley.

“We’re excited to finally open in Chilliwack,” says CEO Ryan Moreno, who co-founded JRG with fellow Surrey native Andre Bourque. “The Fraser Valley is booming, and with so many people moving to Chilliwack each year, this is an excellent opportunity for us. We look forward to creating a welcoming gathering space where people can enjoy a comfortable atmosphere, exceptional service and great food prepared by our amazing chefs.”

Among the chefs that Moreno is looking forward to bringing to Chilliwack is JRG Corporate Chef David Jorge (MasterChef Canada winner). He too has Fraser Valley roots and is looking forward to bringing JRG’s culinary team’s impressive creativity and talent to Chilliwack.

Moreno says that, as with JRG’s other establishments, the company looks forward to making an impact on the community that extends well beyond providing great food and entertainment.

“We’re proud to create popular local hubs where people can get together,” says Moreno, “but for us, being a part of the community means going well beyond that. That’s why we like to fundraise for schools, teams and charities, have our chefs mentor high school culinary students, and support local food producers. We believe the best way for our business to thrive in Chilliwack will be for us and our 100 new employees to be involved in this community and we look forward to doing that.”
