A recent $40,000 donation by Kraft Heinz Canada in support for Humber College’s Culinary and Baking programs in the Faculty of Business will help students gain real-world expertise by bringing education and industry together and accelerating their unlimited potential. This contribution demonstrates Kraft Heinz’s commitment to the growth and learning of students via a blend of culinary, baking and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The company will support:
- The Kraft Heinz Scholarship, providing financial support to help students complete their education without the burden of financial stress;
- Humber’s student Iron Chef Competition, for which they will serve as Lead Sponsor and help provide cash prizes to competition winners;
- The Bakery Management Entrepreneurship Challenge, where a panel of Kraft Heinz representatives will judge student-designed products and services;
- An opportunity for Humber students to participate in Foodovation, an event hosted at Kraft Heinz facilities for top customers, sharing upcoming food-industry insights and trends; and
- The Kraft Heinz Customer Event, where Humber students develop and present a product idea or recipe for Kraft Heinz customers.
On Nov. 11, 2019, Humber and Kraft Heinz unveiled a new plaque on the donor wall located in Gratitude Hall at Humber’s North Campus. Kraft Heinz attendees included Thomas Heintz, corporate chef, 2011 Humber graduate of the Certified Chef de Cuisine certificate program and member of Humber’s Culinary Management Program Advisory Committee. Other attendees included Rocco Crocco, associate director, foodservice marketing and Clint Casmiro, senior associate brand manager.
