The first Toronto location of Vancouver’s acclaimed fine dining restaurant Bauhaus is set to open Spring 2019.
Having set a new standard for German cuisine in Vancouver, owner and film director Dr. Uwe Boll is opening a Toronto outpost of his award-winning restaurant Bauhaus at residential development The Harlowe. Situated at the corner of Richmond St. W. and Bathurst St., and featuring an all-brick design inspired by the Meatpacking and Chelsea Districts of New York City, The Harlowe is the ideal location for Bauhaus. The original Bauhaus was chosen for the Diners Club World’s 50 Best Restaurants Discovery Series in 2017 and hailed as “worthy of a Michelin star” by The Globe and Mail.
“I have been interested in entering Toronto’s dynamic food scene for some time,” said co-owner Dr. Boll. “When I heard of the design elements and downtown location of The Harlowe, I immediately knew I had to look no further for a location to launch the second iteration of Bauhaus. In Vancouver, our restaurant is inspired by the Bauhaus school of design and German classics, which we expect to reinterpret once again with a fresh perspective in Toronto.”
The first location of Bauhaus in Gastown, one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods, is minimalist and modern, with high ceilings, reclaimed brick and exposed concrete. Similarly, the Lamb Standard of design is the company’s pursuit of excellence, ensuring features like modern kitchen cabinetry, high ceilings and exposed concrete come standard with every unit.
