During these difficult COVID-19 times, there continues to be a rise in concern over the mental health of employees, supervisors, managers, and owners in the foodservice and hospitality industry. In response to these concerns, ORHMA remains committed to helping the industry and is pleased to offer three complimentary mental health webinars for those in the hospitality industry.

ORHMA has partnered with CAMH (Canadian Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) to offer these free webinars in response to the overwhelming need for all of us during these difficult times.

Workplace Mental Health for Leaders Webinar

This 75-minute webinar introduces leaders to the topics of workplace mental health. It focuses on the role and responsibility that leaders and organizations play in fostering a culture that promotes psychological health and safety, destigmatizes mental illness, and promotes early intervention and mental wellbeing.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the spectrum of mental health and the various risk factors that affect vulnerability
  • Understand the business impact of not addressing employees’ mental health
  • Recognize the role that organizations play in reducing stigma and supporting employee’s mental health
  • Describe an employer’s duty to inquiry and accommodate an individual’s suffering from a mental health or addiction issue

Essentials of Workplace Mental Health Webinar

This interactive webinar introduces participants to some of the signs and indicators in the workplace where there may be a mental health and/or addiction issue. Topics focus on the role and responsibility that peers and organizations play in fostering a culture that promotes mental health and destigmatizes mental illness.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the spectrum of mental health and the various risk factors that affect vulnerability
  • Recognize some of the common signs and symptoms in individuals who may be struggling with their mental health
  • Describe the role that stigma plays in workplace mental health
  • Tips to deal with pandemic fatigue and associated risk to burnout

Worry to Wellness – Building Your Resilience Webinar

Over the course of this workshop, participants will explore practices to help shift their mindset to one that protects their mental wellbeing while also strengthening their ability to adapt to demands in the workplace. This is not about removing stress, but rather changing how we view and respond to it. Building resilience can move employees towards gaining the internal locus of control to tackle the many life challenges.  

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the relationship between mental health, stress and burnout
  • Define personal resilience and identify constructs that positively affect mental wellbeing
  • Identify positive psychological practices that foster self-awareness and emotional regulation
