The list of OpenTable’s 100 best Canadian restaurants for foodies has just been released. To compile the list, OpenTable considered restaurant reviews posted between August 1, 2015 and July 31, 2016, meaning over 300,000 restaurant reviews for more than 1,800 Canadian restaurants were assessed. Both new and older establishments throughout eight provinces were included.
The province with the greatest presence on this list is Ontario with 45 restaurants, followed by Alberta with 22, and 14 in both British Columbia and Quebec. There were also a small number of restaurants that made the list in Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
With the vast amount of Italian restaurants throughout Canada, is it no surprise that this is the most popular type of food among Canadians. Canadian and French cuisine followed in second and third place. Tapas and small plates were also represented on this list, as well as Contemporary French and international cuisines.
“From locally-sourced ingredients, artisanal cocktails, unconventional cooking methods to an eclectic fusion of international cuisines, restaurants across the country are setting themselves apart by offering up new and unique dining experiences that are hitting the mark with self-proclaimed foodies,” said Ziv Schierau, head of national accounts for OpenTable Canada, in a statement. “This list serves as a guide for locals looking to venture beyond their usual fare and travellers wanting to indulge in one of the many eateries defining Canada as a global dining destination.”
The top 100 were chosen based on reviews and scores on OpenTable. It seems that using OpenTable to make reservations at your restaurant is a fabulous option and is suitable for reviews as well. Diners can find everything they need on this site, while making it easy for everyone.
