‘Tis the season for early holiday menus

As fall flies by and the holidays become top of mind for many, some QSRs are introducing their holiday menus even earlier this year. Festive menus will continue to drop throughout the next few months, but operators launching early may get the drop on guests looking to get into the holiday spirit sooner.

Here are the first few holiday menus recently announced:

Starbucks’ popular seasonal menu brings a few new additions to the list this year. Starting from November 6, the initial holiday menu is available, including the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, and Iced Gingerbread Chai, with the Chestnut Praline Latte and Eggnog Latte returning later in the season. This season’s newest food additions include the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread, as well as the return of popular Cranberry Bliss Bar and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish.

Dunkin’ has also recently revealed its holiday items, available starting November 5. The menu includes some seasonal favourites like the Peppermint Mocha and Toasted White Chocolate Signature Lattes, along with festive-themed MUNCHKINS®. Newly added to the menu this year are the Cookie Butter Cloud Latte, Berry Sangria Refresher, Raspberry Striped Croissant, Ultimate Bacon Jam Breakfast Sandwich and Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese.

Denny’s has added a fun and festive menu item: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer pancakes. Guests can enjoy the treat as part of the Rudolph Everyday Value Slam that includes two pancakes with turkey bacon antlers, a vanilla cream, chocolate eyes, and a strawberry for Rudolph’s signature red nose. The Rudolph Everyday Value Slam features the pancakes alongside two eggs and golden hash browns or toast.

Dairy Queen has launched its holiday menu, bringing back the Frosted Sugar Cookie flavour (December’s Treat of the Month). They have also added two brand-new holiday treats: the Holiday Nog Shake and the Peppermint Bark Blizzard (November’s Treat of the Month), offering these holiday items for a limited time only and while supplies last.

The holidays have arrived at Subway Canada with some new additions to the menu, most notably the TurHamKen, including Canadian farm-raised Turkey, Canadian farm-raised Rotisserie-Style Chicken, and Black Forest Ham made with Canadian Pork, as well as gravy and stuffing. Also included on the holiday menu are the Festive Ham, Festive Chicken, and Festive Turkey subs.

Studies show that at least 44 per cent of guests look forward to holiday-themed LTOs, so it’s a great way for restaurants to get an early start on the festive season that can prolong increased traffic and sales right up until the new year.
