Subway Canada rolls out gluten-free bread

Subway is the first national quick service restaurant to carry gluten-free bread across Canada

Press release

Looking to meet the evolving dietary needs and preferences of Canadians, Subway now offers a gluten-free bread option in its restaurants across Canada, for a limited time. Subway is the first restaurant in the quick service category to carry gluten-free bread throughout the country.

“We are always looking to provide more variety and meet the dietary needs of our guests. We’ve been testing gluten-free bread at a small number of our restaurants in Canada, and the response has been very positive,” says Cristina Wells, Subway Canada Senior Marketing Director. “We’re excited to expand our gluten-free bread to our restaurants and are proud to be the first QSR in Canada to tackle this need on a national scale.”

The gluten-free bread from Subway is produced and packaged in a gluten-free facility. Subway Canada also carries a variety of proteins, toppings and sauce options that do not contain gluten. ‘Sandwich Artists’ take steps when preparing orders to minimize possible cross-contamination; however, a 100 per cent gluten-free experience and product cannot be guaranteed as other menu items and ingredients contain gluten and are prepared on shared equipment. Guests can learn more about these options at Subway.com.
