Breakfast Club of Canada fundraiser sets new record

The Breakfast Club of Canada (BCC), in collaboration with Walmart Canada, broke its all-time fundraising record in 2021.

This year’s campaign, which ran from September 28 to November 2 in Walmart Canada’s 400-plus stores and on its website, raised $4.1 million for school breakfast programs, including an $820,000 donation from Walmart Canada.

The initiative helps the Breakfast Club of Canada programs build a stronger distribution infrastructure to reach more kids from coast to coast to coast, including in remote communities across the country.

During the campaign, customers were invited to make a donation at the store checkout or online to support BCC, an organization that has been working tirelessly for 27 years to give all kids an equal chance at success.

We’re able to open more programs and apply more resources to meet the needs of communities across the country.”

Based on recent data, nearly two million children in Canada are still at risk of starting their day hungry, meaning one in three children are at risk of going to school on an empty stomach.

Walmart Canada and Breakfast Club of Canada have worked together since 2003, donating and raising more than $59 million to help feed more students every day.
