Rocky Crest Golf Resort on Lake Joseph opens the 2016 season with a new executive chef at the helm of culinary operations at the full-service, ClubLink resort in Muskoka
When Rocky Crest Golf Resort (www.rockycrest.ca) opened for the 2016 season, it was with a new Executive Chef in charge of all culinary operations at the full-service Muskoka resort. Rocky Crest management is pleased to introduce Wade Urash in his new role as Executive Chef. Since April, he has taken charge of Rocky Crest Resort’s three restaurants and extensive banquet operations. Urash was previously employed at Rocky Crest as Executive Sous Chef.

Executive Chef Urash comes to Rocky Crest with an impressive culinary background. He received his formal training at Toronto’s George Brown College. Upon graduation in 1999, he apprenticed for three years, working at cutting-edge Toronto restaurants including Zoom and Far Niente, under the direction of award-winning chefs like Jamie Kennedy. After a stint as Executive Chef at Pusateri’s Fine Foods, Chef Urash continued to hone his skills while employed as a personal chef. He moved to Muskoka in 2004, working for six years at Taboo Resort as Chef De Cuisine, and then as Executive Chef at Touchstone Resort, before coming to Rocky Crest Golf Resort.
Executive Chef Urash’s forte is classical European and Canadian dishes prepared with a modern twist. He has an innovative approach to cooking and is passionate about using the only freshest ingredients, preferably locally sourced and sustainable. For Rocky Crest’s fine dining room Windows Steakhouse, Chef Urash has adapted a few of his signature dishes, such as candy almond-crusted lamb served with mint and pea puree, fresh lobster cooked to order with chili-lime butter and corn crusted with feta, and perfectly grilled premium cut steaks. The menus of Rocky Crest’s two other restaurants — On the Green, serving traditional clubhouse fare, and the Bayside Patio and Lounge, serving light bites and traditional favorites, have also benefitted from Chef Urash’s talent.
