Super Bowl

Making your restaurant a Super Bowl destination

Celebrating the Super Bowl with your guests is a great way to encourage groups to gather, raise revenues, and fill your restaurant – but innovation is key. Today’s guests are looking for a fun and unique experience, so get strategic with your planning to offer something fresh, draw in a crowd, and boost the bottom line.

The Super Bowl’s total consumer spending hit a record $18.6 billion in 2025, and over 80 per cent of that was in food and beverage. Creating a strategy to celebrate the Super Bowl successfully with your guests can help raise February’s revenues for your restaurant:

Creating a menu

Start by ensuring that there is a festive atmosphere with access to the game and themed décor to help get guests in a festive mood. Craft a special menu for the occasion, either incorporating special menu items you don’t usually offer, football-themed dishes like Touchdown Tacos, or signature dishes from the team cities playing. Don’t forget that families may also want to celebrate with you, so think about adding fun items like football-shaped pizza, dippable snacks, and fun combos to the kids’ menu.

Adding value

Consider upping the fun factor for your guests with onsite offers and added value that will engage customers and increase cheque totals. Add themed specials like half-time happy hour or half-time half-price hot dogs, as well as promo around the game itself, like BOGO nachos or appetizers when someone scores. You could even partner with a local brewery to offer flights or give away merch to offer extra value and encourage guests to stay until the game ends. Get creative with your value-adds to stand out and fill your dining room – and if you have an all-season patio, take advantage of that space, too, to maximize your traffic.

Offering off-premise dining

Almost half of Super Bowl fans celebrate at home, so be sure to include takeout and catering in your planning. Bundle meals for different-sized groups, with favourites like chicken wings, nachos, chili, and more to appeal to fans hosting at home. You may also want to create to-go dishes like “take and bake wings,” a taco kit, or a cookie decorating set for people who want to do more while still enjoying your menu. Ensure that your kitchen is staffed to accommodate the increased off-premise volume, stock up on takeout containers, and manage delivery as efficiently as possible to keep guests happy and singing your praises.

The Super Bowl is a great opportunity for operators to up their game by attracting customers looking to celebrate. Don’t forget to hype up your menu and promos in-store, on social media and on your website to get as much attention as a game-day destination.
