First-quarter LTOs add even more value to the menu

As consumers continue to search for more value from their dining experiences, remaining price sensitive and selective about discretionary spending, many QSRs are creating value menus to try and attract the attention of value-seeing customers. While the guest perception of value certainly is not limited to lower prices, some operators are starting the year off by focusing on adjusting portions, creating specific value menus, and offering innovative LTOs to drive traffic at the beginning of the year.

Research shows that consumers are planning to pull back on restaurant spending with a combination of fewer visits and less expensive purchases, and 50 per cent planning to take advantage of more promos and discounts as part of their strategy.

While many QSRs introduced new value meals in 2025, there are a few new additions in this first quarter of 2026:

Wendy’s re-introduced the Biggie concept with  new value meals at the beginning of the year, featuring menu items at $4, $6, and $8 price points. The $4 Biggie Bites menu includes the choice of one Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, 4pc. nuggets, or Jr. Fry, along with the choice of s second item, including 4pc. nuggets, Jr. Fry, or small soft drink. The $6 Biggie Bag gives guests the choice of a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, or Double Stack, combined with 4pc. nuggets, a Jr. Fry, and a small soft drink. For the $8 Biggie Bundle, guests can choose two Crispy Chicken Sandwiches, Jr. Cheeseburgers, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers, or Double Stacksto go with a Jr. Fry and a small soft drink.

Taco Bell recently released a Luxe Menu in the U.S. featuring 10 items, each under $3. Items on the menu include Salted Caramel Churros ($1.99), Mini Taco Salad ($2.49), Beefy Potato Loaded Griller ($2.49), Chips and Nacho Supreme Dip ($2.49), Avocado Ranch Chicken Stacker ($2.99), Cheesy Roll Up ($1.19), Spicy Potato Soft Taco ($1.29), Cheesy Double Beef Burrito ($2.79), Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito ($1.49), and 3 Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt ($2.29). Prices will vary in some locations.

Tim Hortons’ value menu is not a new concept, but 2026 offers some additional items to the lineup. In Canada, the TimSelects Value Menu features items starting at $2.99, including the Spinach & Feta Savoury Egg Pastry, Everything Bagel & Cream Cheese, Four-Cheese Omelette Bites, and Red Pepper & Swiss Savoury Pinwheel, as well as a $6 Breakfast Bundle, including an English muffin or biscuit breakfast sandwich, a hashbrown, and a small hot/iced coffee. The U.S. value menu features a small coffee for $2, two donuts for $3, and select breakfast sandwiches for $3 to $4.

As value continues to dominate diner demand, more LTOs will emerge to help operators remain competitive and maintain their margins.
